 Year 4

Welcome to our Year 4 class page

In Year 4 we are happy, kind and enthusiastic. We know the importance of having aspirations and resilience - we try hard in all we do.

Mrs Austin is our teacher and Miss Ore supports our learning too.

Spring Two News
This half term, pupils have shown remarkable resilience and determination as they tackled new and challenging mathematics topics, demonstrating that hard work and dedication truly lead to success. In English, they have impressed with their engaging quest stories, writing with a stronger awareness of the reader and showing increasing independence by thoughtfully revising and improving their work with minimal adult support.
Our class has been thoroughly absorbed in our new novel, sparking meaningful discussions about whether it is ever acceptable to steal and deepening our understanding of what friendship truly means.
Across our foundation subjects, pupils have embraced a variety of enriching experiences: designing and creating book jackets in DT, exploring how education has evolved over time in History, investigating the fascinating processes of the digestive system in Science, and reflecting in RE why Christians refer to Good Friday as 'good'.
A highlight of this term was a special visit from Mother Jo, who shared insights into Easter celebrations within the Church, culminating in a memorable Easter Service at our local church to round off a highly successful Spring Two.

Reading in KS2
As a school we love to read and think this is really important.  It is the expectation that children read for 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week.  Children can borrow books from their classroom or the school library. The children should be completing accelerated reader quizzes, when they have finished their book.
You can access accelerated reader here -
