Wow, we are in the final term and we can't quite believe it!
The children were fantastic during our two weeks of swimming and they adjusted really quickly tot he new routine. They showed such enthusiasm, resilience and perseverance. We were so proud of how well they did!
Thank you for your continued support this year. The children have a very busy final half term ahead and there are lots of things taking place. Please ensure you check the calendar and website to keep up to date.
A few reminders for the Summer Term...
Forest School will continue to take place on a Monday and you will need to send your child into school in jogging bottoms/leggings and their school jumper. Can we remind parents that this is not an opportunity for children to wear non-uniform. School jumpers and cardigans must still be worn. Please remember to send them to school with clothes appropriate for the weather conditions-coats, hats and sun cream as the weather gets better.
PE will take place on a Wednesday and you will need to send your child to school in their PE kit.
We will continue to visit the library on Monday and your child will be able to choose a library book to share with you at home. This is to encourage the love of reading at home and any conversations around a good story. This book is different to the phonics book and we would really like to encourage you to read as much as you can at home. Little and often will build confidence with reading and consistency is key. If you have any questions or concerns regarding reading please speak to either Mrs Williams or Mrs Elsdon.
As always, if you are unsure about anything or need to talk, we will always be happy to help if we can.
Thank you, EYFS team.
NEWS FLASH
We will have our class assembly this half term! We can't wait to perform for you all on Wednesday 8th July at 9.15am.
We will also enjoy a Teddy bears picnic on Monday 13th July as part of our Forest School session. You will need to send your child into school with a small piece of cake or cupcake to enjoy during this session.

The Curriculum
The EYFS recognises that children need to be able to use concrete experiences to provide the building blocks for their learning. Based on this, the learning ethos behind EYFS encourages a mix of play-based and adult led learning.
Here are some documents you might find useful to have a look at to help your understanding of the EYFS curriculum and how best to support your child in their first year at Badsey First School.
