Badsey First School

Year 5

Welcome to our Year 5 page

We are the oldest members of the school and try our best to be responsible in many ways. We are proud of our school. We are kind, celebrate differences and support each other to be the best we can be.

Our teacher is Miss Stephens. Mrs Pargeter supports us with our learning too.

Spring Term News
Year 5 have had such a brilliant term since coming back after Christmas! We have seen some great progress form all children this term. The children thoroughly enjoyed World Book Day, and having a chance to spend the day in their pyjamas. In Art, we saw some fantastic sculptures, who were able to use inspiration from modern day and Ancient Greek pottery. In DT this term, we have been busy making pencil cases through a ‘make do and mend’ project. The children have shown some great sewing skills, and have created some lovely pencil cases. We have seen some wonderful gymnastics from the children this term, and they have been working hard on their rolls and putting it all into a sequence. The children loved their Archery session with Riley this term, we saw some fantastic archers and I was blown away by how many bullseyes were made! It has been great to hear about their days on bikebility. The children have loved going out on their bikes, around the village. I hope everyone has a lovely Easter Break, and they are looking forward to a wonderful, action-packed week at Condover, when we get back!

Reading in KS2
As a school we love to read and think this is really important.  It is the expectation that children read for 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week.  Children can borrow books from their classroom or the school library. The children should be completing accelerated reader quizzes, when they have finished their book.
You can access accelerated reader here -
