Autumn Term News
Year 1 have continued to make outstanding progress this half term! It has been a busy but rewarding few weeks, with all the children working incredibly hard to become more independent in their learning. The improvement all the children have made in their writing and maths has been phenomenal.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our class books, and the children have produced some excellent writing. In maths, they have been developing their number knowledge and have loved exploring 3D shapes.
In geography, we explored using maps, and the children particularly enjoyed learning how to draw their own. In computing, we created digital paintings, and the children produced some beautiful creations!
A highlight this half term for Year 1 was practicing and performing in the KS1 nativity. Despite all their learning, the children managed to squeeze in rehearsals for their lines, songs, and actions. We could not be more proud of how hard they worked, pulling off three excellent performances!

At Badsey First School, we value the importance of reading.
It is important that your child reads regularly at home to help them consolidate the phonics skills that they have been learning in school, develop their fluency and support their comprehension. It is really important that all children have their reading records and reading books in school each day. When your child reads at school, you will receive feedback in the reading record too.
