Autumn Term News
Year 1 have made outstanding progress this half term! They have settled into the new routines of Year 1 brilliantly and consistently show a positive attitude to learning.
We thoroughly enjoyed our class books, and the children have produced some excellent writing. In maths, the children have been developing their number knowledge and have loved exploring 2D shapes.
In history, we explored toys of the past, and the children were fascinated by handling and examining artefacts. During PSHE, we discussed the people who love us, and the children enjoyed sharing and talking about their families. In computing, we looked at technology around us, giving the children the chance to use laptops independently.
In science, we explored animals, with the children taking on the role of scientists by describing and classifying them. In art, the children practiced sketching and created pieces that included a variety of lines and tones. In PE, they enjoyed learning tennis and badminton.
Overall, Year 1 have had a brilliant start to the half term, and we are excited to see all that they will achieve in the weeks ahead!

At Badsey First School, we value the importance of reading.
It is important that your child reads regularly at home to help them consolidate the phonics skills that they have been learning in school, develop their fluency and support their comprehension. It is really important that all children have their reading records and reading books in school each day. When your child reads at school, you will receive feedback in the reading record too.
